Gold Bug is my first venture into American Wire Hair cats.  I have always found them fasinating and decided to make take the leap in fall 2009. Goldie's first show was January 9 & 10th in High Point, NC. She received winner's ribbons and the title of champion.

Champion Char's Party Girl

Party Girl obtained her Championship title at the Elizabethtwon, KY show. She has a wonderful springy coat that is thick and deliteful to touch. She feels like a micro fiber sock we wear in the winter to warm our feet.

Some Wire Hair kittens are born with a wired coat and some begin wiring as they age. Some never wire and remain straight coated. The gene mutation for the wired coat is an incomplete dominate gene so it's a 50/50 chance. Goldie's coat was straight at birth and began wiring at about 3 months old. You can see how the wiring is spreading from the base of her tail in all directions along her tail and torso. She has curled eyebrows and ear tuffs.
