Deposits of $150 will hold a kitten for a perspective buyer, however if the buyer doesn’t pay the balance owed and take possession of the cat  by the designated time the deposit is forfeited and  Blumoon O’Ky cattery is free from all obligation to the prospective buyer. If for any reason the kitten can not be delivered to the buyer by Blumoon cattery the deposit will be returned.

PAYMENTS MUST BE RECEIVED IN FULL BEFORE THE DELIVERY OF THE KITTEN IS MADE TO BUYER.  Cash only for balance when picking up a kitten. Shipping, carrier and health certificate expenses are the responsibility of the buyer.

1. Pet quality kittens are sold only on a spay/neuter contract agreement.  This condition is for the safety of the pet, breeder and buyer. Unaltered pets are more likely to wander in search of romance and be killed. Unaltered pets add to the already overburdened shelter problem by producing unplanned and unwanted animals. Unaltered pets can damage the breeding program of a cattery by introducing unwanted traits into the developed line and altering the qualities sought by the breeder.

2. Ownership of the cat will never be transferred to any laboratory or research facility, Humane Society, or any home for any other use than as a family pet. If at any time the purchaser can no longer provide a home for this animal the breeder has the option to reclaim the animal.

3.  It is the recommendation of Blumoon cattery that this animal not be declawed.  Declawing is essentially the amputation of the last digit of the cat’s toe. It is the same as cutting off the end of your fingers to remove the nails. I have cut this cat’s nails since birth with regular nail clippers to maintain their length.  They are accustomed to having this done regularly.

4.   Cat should remain indoors. Outdoor play should be in a confined area or     supervised at all times. Outdoor cats do not live long lives. 

5.  In order to validate the health quarantee, a licensed Veterinarian must examine this animal within 48 hours and before it is introduced into its new home environment.  This condition is to protect both the buyer and the seller. The buyer is assured a healthy animal. The immediate vet check assures the buyer the kitten is healthy and not transferring unwanted disease to other pets in the home. It also assures the breeder that if for any reason the kitten must be returned it will not introduce any problems transferred from the buyer’s environment to the breeder’s cattery. 

6.   If this animal is purchased whole (unaltered) the buyer must send conformation of the animal being spayed or neutered within six months to the seller or compensate the seller for the price a breeding animal/($800-$1,500).  The seller may retain registration certificate of an unaltered animal until such a time as documentation of altering is received. If proof of alteration is not received within one year of date of purchase of this animal the buyer owes the seller the difference in the current price of a pet and breeding/show quality animal as determined by the seller. Seller will take the claim to court to receive the difference in money owed. All legal action regarding this animal will be carried out in Knox County, Kentucky unless otherwise determined by the seller.

7.  If this animal is sold as a breeding or show quality cat, it shall only be bred to animals of equal or better pedigree or bloodlines after the animal has been shown and titled in CFA sanctioned cat shows. This condition assures the integrity of Blumoon cattery’s breeding program. Pin # for breeding papers shall be held until cat is titled.

8.  The buyer will provide timely and quality health and vet care for the animal when ill and will continue the vaccination program on a yearly basis.

9.  The kitten will at no time be subjected to any type of abuse.

10.  legal action by the seller or buyer shall be filed in Knox County, Ky. Legal and vet expenses or the sole responsibility of the buyer of the cat.

Health Quarantee

At the time of sale this animal is quaranteed to be healthy and free of any viral infection for which it has been vaccinated for a period of 14 days. All kittens have received necessary treatment for parasites and all needed vaccines until one year of age as listed on its health record. However, worms are not covered in this quarantee as almost all animals have them and they are a reoccurring problem. Kittens should be checked and treated regularly for these parasites. Because bacterial infections can be contracted during shipping and change of environment they are covered within seven days of receipt of the animal. The price of any medications required to treat bacterial infections will be reimbursed to the buyer at a just and reasonable cost upon receipt of verification of said treatment. If the purchased kitten is found to have a congenital live-threatening condition at any time during the first year of ownership, the breeder will replace the kitten with no additional charge for the replacement kitten. Any vet bills and shipping expenses shall be the responsibility of the purchaser. Nonlife-threatening conditions such as kinked tails, crossed eyes, protruding strenum or underbites are not covered in the replacement clause. These defects are inherent in some breeds and are often what makes an animal PET quality. They in no way detract from the health or personality of the animal.

I strongly recommend the use of plain clay litter for your cats. Clumping type litters have been found as bowel obstructions in kittens & cats that ingest it during grooming. This can lead to expensive surgeries and sometimes death.
